If you are an EXO fan, and especially a Chanyeol fan….YOU NEED TO GO HERE. It is basically a glorious shrine to Chanyeol, and the price is buying delicious food! I see no bad points about this!!! Seriously though, the food is really good, and the servers and staff are friendly.
This place is plastered with pictures and fan art of Chanyeol. You can leave a note or fan art at the restaurant, and if Chanyeol’s mom likes it, she might put it up 🙂 I’ve been there a few times, and I found my little drawing hanging on the wall :D. All the pictures and notes and fanart etc, have now spilled out into the hallway and the stairway walls leading up to the restaurant!
Mama Yeollie is suuuuper sweet, and really friendly. If she’s not really busy, you could probably say hi to her. ^^
It’s really easy to find, but it takes a little time to get there, cuz it’s kind of far out….but if you’re going to the Olympic Park for a concert, its a few subway stops away, so drop on by Viva Polo!! 😀
Directions:
Take subway Line 5 (purple line) towards Sangil-dong. (Make sure you’re on a train bound for Sangil-dong and not Macheon. Line 5 splits at a stop called Gangdong. If you’re on a train bound for Macheon, get off at Gangdong, and wait for the next train, which should be going towards Sangil-dong.) Get off at Myeongil station (명일역- Myeongil yeok) and take Exit 1. Walk out, take an immediate right, and walk like… 20 feet, and you should see the entrance on your right. The restaurant is on the second floor, so look up if you’re having trouble, but seriously, it’s like right there.

My mom and I are planning to go this summer and I really wanna go here… but sadly I’m really shy when it comes to my korean skills >~<; so is there anyone who speaks english there??… Thanks ^^
Ummm I think one of the waiters speaks pretty good English. He’s really friendly and has glasses ^^ He’s been there every time I’ve gone (3 times haha) Otherwise, the menus have English on them too. And you can get pretty far with pointing!
do u have the address to this place? thanks! 🙂
This should be it!
강동구 양재대로 1631 (열매점), Myeong il 1 dong, Seoul, 134-830, South Korea
Do you know the hours of the restaurant? Thank you so much!
Ha oh gosh…Officially, I think its 11:30am-10:30pm. But I suggest going over an actual meal time. Twice when I went, they were closed for like two hours for a “break time” or something, once between 3 and 5pm, but another time it 5-7pm or something kind of weird like that We couldn’t figure out if there was actually a rhyme or reason to when these break times were, but they seemed to be for the staff to take a break and eat.
The one time, we got there right around 3, and they did let us in and get food, but then we were some of the last customers there, and none of the staff would come work the cash register so we could pay, so Chanyeol’s mom actually came and did it for us! But everyone seemed to be totally off the clock haha…
Do u know the ph no.of the shop??😂😂
I believe its this: 02-442-7885
wow. how nice. I want to go there too someday. which one comes first? Chanyeol’s fame or his mom’s restaurant? lol (just asking)
Haha i’m not sure. I would imagine the fame. Viva Pollo is a chain of restaurants , so this isn’t the only one. His mom just owns this location. A lot of Kpop idols set their parents up with a restaurant or cafe, and its kind of seen as a good thing to do/taking care of your parents so your parents will be set for the rest of their lives. And esp if they market it as “EXO Chanyeol’s Mom’s restaurant!” for example, it will make a killing lol.
I dont know for sure which came first here, but I would guess the restuarant came after he started gathering fame.
thanx i really wanna go there one time :’) is it really crowded over there? I’m curious.
The few times I was there, it wasn’t crowded. It’s not in the center of Seoul, so it’s not usually overly busy. 🙂
