Kpop Concert Venue #2: Olympic Park

A wonderful venue, but kind of takes a while to get there from downtown.

You’ll need to get to Line 5 (purple). Get on a Line 5 train heading towards Macheon. Line 5 splits as it gets farther out to the edges of Seoul, and one way goes to Macheon, the other goes to Sangil-dong. If you are on a train and you realize you are heading for Sangil-dong instead of Macheon, get off at Gangdong (where the line splits), and wait for the next train, which should be heading for Macheon.

So, Line 5, heading towards Macheon, get off at Olympic Park (올림픽 공원역- Olympic Gongwon Yeok) and go out Exit 3.

Exits 1 and 2 will take you to the other side of the road. Exit 3, walk out, turn right and walk all the way down the big paved/brick walkway, cross the bridge, and you will see two stadiums. The bigger one on the right I think is the Gymnastics Stadium, and the slightly smaller one on the left is the Handball Stadium(??) They both host Kpop concerts.

I went to the SHINee World III concert, which was held in the bigger arena, and on the same day, was a BAP concert, held in the smaller arena on the left. EXO’s first solo concert was also held in the bigger one.
You will not have trouble figuring which one you are supposed to go to, trust me. If you are going for a concert, follow the droves of fans already there, as well as the signs plastered all over the correct stadium. 🙂
